Miles began his career as a professional musician at age 14. He has since then played with many great musicians such as Maynard Ferguson, Harry "Sweets" Edison, Slide Hampton, Mark Murphy, Chuck Israels, Paul Horn and Houston Person. His touring has taken him across Canada and around the world including Europe and Russia.

He has played on many recordings for T.V. and film, and works with PG Music to create instructional music software including brilliant transcriptions of Oscar Peterson's solos.

Miles has also taught piano at Vancouver's Capilano College.
